Proverbs 10:1-32 -
Solomon's Proverbs
1These are Solomon's proverbs:
Wise children make their fathers proud of them; foolish ones bring their mothers grief.
2Wealth you get by dishonesty will do you no good, but honesty can save your life.
3The LORD will not let good people go hungry, but he will keep the wicked from getting what they want.
4Being lazy will make you poor, but hard work will make you rich.
5A sensible person gathers the crops when they are ready; it is a disgrace to sleep through the time of harvest.
6Good people will receive blessings. The words of the wicked hide a violent nature.
7Good people will be remembered as a blessing, but the wicked will soon be forgotten.
8Sensible people accept good advice. People who talk foolishly will come to ruin.
9Honest people are safe and secure, but the dishonest will be caught.
10Someone who holds back the truth causes trouble, but one who openly criticizes works for peace.F9
11A good person's words are a fountain of life, but a wicked person's words hide a violent nature.
12 R22 Hate stirs up trouble, but love forgives all offenses.
13Intelligent people talk sense, but stupid people need to be punished.
14The wise get all the knowledge they can, but when fools speak, trouble is not far off.
15Wealth protects the rich; poverty destroys the poor.
16The reward for doing good is life, but sin leads only to more sin.
17People who listen when they are corrected will live, but those who will not admit that they are wrong are in danger.
18Anyone who hides hatred is a liar. Anyone who spreads gossip is a fool.
19The more you talk, the more likely you are to sin. If you are wise, you will keep quiet.
20A good person's words are like pure silver; a wicked person's ideas are worthless.
21A good person's words will benefit many people, but you can kill yourself with stupidity.
22It is the LORD's blessing that makes you wealthy. Hard work can make you no richer.F10
23It is foolish to enjoy doing wrong. Intelligent people take pleasure in wisdom.
24The righteous get what they want, but the wicked will get what they fear most.
25Storms come, and the wicked are blown away, but honest people are always safe.
26Never get a lazy person to do something for you; he will be as irritating as vinegar on your teeth or smoke in your eyes.
27Obey the LORD, and you will live longer. The wicked die before their time.
28The hopes of good people lead to joy, but wicked people can look forward to nothing.
29The LORD protects honest people, but destroys those who do wrong.
30Righteous people will always have security, but the wicked will not survive in the land.
31Righteous people speak wisdom, but the tongue that speaks evil will be stopped.
32Righteous people know the kind thing to say, but the wicked are always saying things that hurt.

~ Lena’s Journalin’
Solomon is a man at peace. These are the sayings of a man at peace, at peace in relationship with God and at peace in relationship with men. Peace , means to be made whole.
It is : completeness (in number), safety, soundness (in body), welfare, health, prosperity, peace, quiet, tranquillity, contentment, peace, friendship, of human relationships, with God especially in covenant relationship, peace (from war), peace (as adjective)
Of all of the purposes in life, there really are only two that matter, two we will stand before God for, both now and forever.
Our peace with God, and our peace with men.
So Solomon is led by God, to give us wisdom on both matters, that of peace with God and also that of peace with men. If one is truly at peace with God, he also will be at peace with men and visa versa. If he won’t make peace w/ men, especially in the area of unforgivness, he is not at peace with God.
Peace is able to be obtained by humanity because of the sacrifices Jesus made to offer it to humankind. It is not obtained nor is it maintained magically, it must be sought after as a treasure is, obtained and guarded. How magical is that? The “magic” is the result of a changed me.
Whenever I hear the words, children, sons, fathers and mothers in the word I think this way:
Children= people who God created and loves, both born of His spirit and not yet born of His spirit, also young ones in faith- depending on the context is how I hear it defined.
Fathers= those who live the example before the children on purpose, they train by repetitive example, that could be good or not so good, depending on what here they are showing forth. It could well be, the Christ in them, or the them in them. Either way, they are training and teaching.
Spiritual fathers are representatives of God, on purpose, they change, because they know the next generation will copy them and they want to change the world for the next generation. They are mature enough to do something on purpose and not just let the sticks fall as they may.
Mothers= nurturers, feeders, the church, the teacher of all Christians, Jesus’ Bride-wife.
Sons= (I love this one) Those who are under the fathers no matter how perfect or imperfect they may be. They place their lives under the father’s hands. They let another lead, while they follow, even if they may know of a far better way. Because, all they really want is to be with the father, please the father, love the father, so they do that position ally and relationally. They are NOT born this way, they are grown up, have decided to come under discipline to become fathers themselves someday.
Good, righteous, wise, intelligent, honest obedient, these are all attributes of a son or goals of ones who desire sonship. Sons are made and only in part by fathers, for even if there was no father figure around (naturally speaking), no godly model, there can still be a son, because God is our Father model, and the Holy Spirit is our teacher and trainer if we will listen to and follow after His words and His voice. As we copy Him, we may get to be the first in a line of successors, but at least the line has started to be formed by a son.
Wicked, foolish, lazy, stupid, liars, these are ungodly attributes, bad fruits of rebellion and those who will not come under the hand of authority, accountability and discipline for change.
Correction is NOT a bad word! If going to a friends home and you went the wrong way, would you not like to be corrected in the way you are directed? F you refuse correction, you will never arrive and that would lead to death. Obedience and accountability are life.
It is good for a father to be able to say to a true son, “What are you doing?”, “Where are you going?” “Who are you with?”, “Why?” Then the big one God asked Adam, His son, “Adam, where are you?”
Adam said, “I heard you and hid”.
The Lord desires that works of darkness be exposed on our lives that there’s nothing evil keeping us from wholeness in Him and wholeness in our human relationships. It is time to come out of hiding, even if you feel naked and alone, because you are not naked and alone when God is here. That is a lie. God said to Adam and Eve, “Who told you that you were naked? WHO TOLD YOU that, YOU WERE UNCOVERED and SHOULD FEEL SHAME?”
He is a liar, the FATHER of lies, there is NO trace of truth in Him. Why, Adam or son of Adam, would you listen to a personage like that, one that is divided purposefully from God, and that is a liar?
The Fathers are saying, “Son, where are you? One’s who come under, submitting themselves to God’s will, where are you? Hear the truth and come out from hiding!
