1 Corinthians 13:1-13 -
1If I could speak in any language in heaven or on earth F63 but didn't love others, I would only be making meaningless noise like a loud gong or a clanging cymbal. 2If I had the gift of prophecy, and if I knew all the mysteries of the future and knew everything about everything, but didn't love others, what good would I be? And if I had the gift of faith so that I could speak to a mountain and make it move, without love I would be no good to anybody. 3If I gave everything I have to the poor and even sacrificed my body, I could boast about it; F64 but if I didn't love others, I would be of no value whatsoever.
4Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud 5or rude. Love does not demand its own way. Love is not irritable, and it keeps no record of when it has been wronged. 6It is never glad about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. 7Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.
8Love will last forever, but prophecy and speaking in unknown languages F65 and special knowledge will all disappear. 9Now we know only a little, and even the gift of prophecy reveals little! 10But when the end comes, these special gifts will all disappear.
11It's like this: When I was a child, I spoke and thought and reasoned as a child does. But when I grew up, I put away childish things. 12Now we see things imperfectly as in a poor mirror, but then we will see everything with perfect clarity. F66 All that I know now is partial and incomplete, but then I will know everything completely, just as God knows me now.
13There are three things that will endure—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love.

This morning I am looking through the Greek Lexicon @
www.Studylight.org They’ve got this great tool. You can look up a passage, say “1 Cor 13” and then there is a bar with many choices to scroll through. On the bar is a choice for, “KJV with Strong’s numbers”. That opens up the whole passage with underlined numbers in which you can click on any or all of the words, one by one , and see the literal Greek meanings of these intended words in a pop up type window that will display the root meanings to you.. It’s a fun tool to use, it really opens up your understanding to the word of God and gives you a taste of being able to dig for the treasure that is hidden inside of it. You do realize that the Bible was not written in British English, correct? Well, Praise the Lord that someone from Britain translated it for us and I and also thankful that someone of the era we now live in is also digging in and bringing the words into present day understanding. When translation is done sometimes root meanings are buried, so it is great to have the tools of the Lexicons to help us see better. Like a magnifying glass would.
I want to use these tools to day to “Paraphrase a bit” and show you how the word of God can be opened up to our further understanding using these tools.
There are also other online Bibles and Study tools you can find at various Internet websites such as,
www.crosswalk.com & www.biblegateway.com. Have a fun with God’s word.
Example in vs 1-
Although I am well able, well versed in speaking to various people, articulating in a way that they fully understand my words, and I also know very well how to communicate in a godly mannerism, even with declarative words that command the angels of God to move, (such as in declarative and assigning bold prayers),and yet the unconditional unwavering accepting love of God is not who I am in the deepest hidden part of my mind, heart and body actions; in fact this love is what I’ve made a huge part of who I really am, I’ve embraced it as my call in life with great zeal followed by demonstration, I am only merely existing as though I’m putting on some stage act. I’m performing for mere men in public places, but not really living as God on earth, as His seed, as His vessel. I may as well be saying, a la, la la de dad a da, as I speak anything, whether good, bad or otherwise. My words are so loudly portrayed, yet so earthly temporary, even if I really know something! I spend them as fast as money and they last only a short earthly lifetime. My words become hollowly repetitive to the hearers, even the atmospheric hearers who were sent by God to either de-seat or to set on assignment. My words do nothing at all for God or even myself really, if I do not become loving on the inside. Let's look at the words that describe the attributable character of Love.
