Genesis 2:1-25
1So the creation of the heavens and the earth and everything in them was completed. 2On the seventh day, having finished his task, God rested from all his work. 3And God blessed the seventh day and declared it holy, because it was the day when he rested from his work of creation.
4This is the account of the creation of the heavens and the earth.
The Man and Woman in Eden
When the LORD God made the heavens and the earth, 5there were no plants or grain growing on the earth, for the LORD God had not sent any rain. And no one was there to cultivate the soil. 6But water came up out of the ground and watered all the land. 7And the LORD God formed a man's body from the dust of the ground and breathed into it the breath of life. And the man became a living person.
8Then the LORD God planted a garden in Eden, in the east, and there he placed the man he had created. 9And the LORD God planted all sorts of trees in the garden—beautiful trees that produced delicious fruit. At the center of the garden he placed the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
10A river flowed from the land of Eden, watering the garden and then dividing into four branches. 11One of these branches is the Pishon, which flows around the entire land of Havilah, where gold is found. 12The gold of that land is exceptionally pure; aromatic resin and onyx stone are also found there. 13The second branch is the Gihon, which flows around the entire land of Cush. 14The third branch is the Tigris, which flows to the east of Asshur. The fourth branch is the Euphrates.
15The LORD God placed the man in the Garden of Eden to tend and care for it. 16But the LORD God gave him this warning: "You may freely eat any fruit in the garden 17except fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. If you eat of its fruit, you will surely die."
18And the LORD God said, "It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a companion who will help him." 19So the LORD God formed from the soil every kind of animal and bird. He brought them to Adam F4 to see what he would call them, and Adam chose a name for each one. 20He gave names to all the livestock, birds, and wild animals. But still there was no companion suitable for him. 21So the LORD God caused Adam to fall into a deep sleep. He took one of Adam's ribs F5 and closed up the place from which he had taken it. 22Then the LORD God made a woman from the rib and brought her to Adam.
23"At last!" Adam exclaimed. "She is part of my own flesh and bone! She will be called 'woman,' because she was taken out of a man." 24This explains why a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one. 25Now, although Adam and his wife were both naked, neither of them felt any shame.

~ Lena’s Journalin’~
God had a plan, created everything within that plan and was done. The vision He saw was completed. To us it seemed like a beginning, for God it was everything. He knows all, sees all, creates all, within His plan and for His plan. What is the plan, man? The plan is for restoration to the Father. Redemption of rebellion. The unity of love, the power of complete uninterrupted fellowship with God.
So it’s done and He makes a man out of the very dust of catastrophe redeemed Wow He sets him in this specific place with purpose and then makes His purpose known. God tells the man all he needs to know to be in fellowship with God, complete fellowship with God. That’s all. Man was the first living creation made, even before plants. After the man was made and was made alive, God planted a garden. Eden was it’s name, it was made for man by God Its name means pleasure. God put man there, of all of the places on earth man was put there to make himself a servant (one who tends) of God’s garden and to guard (keep) that garden. Man was made a responsive being, a reflective being, and God placed responsibility in his hands, filled his hands with purpose.
Man had help from God, God made it easy on him, made it a place where he’d find pleasure in his labors. He gave him 4 rivers. Even in the rivers was the commission of man for the earth. The names of the rivers mean to increase your circle, burst forth rapidly, make progress, bring forth fruitfulness. Doesn’t that already sound like what God will further tell Adam & Eve together to do, and what He’s told each and every human being after this to also continue to do?
The rivers went OUT from the place of personal pleasure, they went out from the garden into all of the other waterways of the earth (so to speak). It was a sign, of that which has started here, must go to other places through you, through the reproduction of our love relationship of pleasure with one another.
The Lord gave him specific instructions about the care and keeping of the garden and then He made a companion for him. God said it is not good that man is alone, just as it was not good for God to be “alone” and so he made a helper (tender/servant/helper)
God is a relational God and also made man to be relational, to have others to relate to.
Of the chaotically rooted soil of the earth, once again God is the master redeemer and God used dust and formed animals, all kinds of living creatures and brought them to Adam to name, but there weren’t any comparable to Him, so God caused Him to close his eyes and rest, as God also rested, and God took a part of man and made a helper for him, one who was also comparable to him.
The Lord brought this woman to this man, the Lord did this. This man would also tend and keep her.
They were both completely opened to one another with no confusing sounds in between them. Their communion was holy and purely One.
This is/was God’s plan for the earth, for man. God is in the “business” of restoration, the restoration of all things. Fellowship, love, communion, communication, tending and keeping.
Man was created by God for love and for companionship. When was the last time we’ve given God companionship, fellowship, reciprocated love, help in His plan for the earth?
This is why we are here to help God, and then He in turn, helps us be able to help Him more. That’s relationship, giving and receiving- LOVE.
