Do you know why God has His people congregate? In congregations there is that potential of unity. Unity is a powerful force, either for good or evil. Either way it is a power-filled force. Force is a word to describe congregation. Force as in military force. The Strong’s says, “a company, an organized body, assembled for a purpose, such as in warfare for invasion.”
Sing His praises in the assembly…that is the way God wars against evil, by His people unified together under His banner of praise. Praise confuses the enemy forces. When we praise he cannot figure out how we’d not fight against him with our own strength, and rather than fight, choose to praise!
Wow! We choose to praise, because we know when we do he will fight for us, before us. Those who show up to praise say, “I want You Oh God to fight for me”! My fighting, struggling days are over, my praising, trusting, relying, days have begun. Now Do Your work Oh God using me, as I praise Thee!
Those who understand this don’t often miss assembly meetings. They know the more of them assembled, the more power released to fight and win against God’s enemies. They have to be there to praise all together, to see the salvation of the Lord in a big way! There’s no other important place to be.
I really believe the more exuberant we are in praise, the more we are freed from self-reliance and self-defense, the more we dance, clap, spin, and shout, the more we show God how reliant we are in trusting Him!
Let’s define - humility, humble, meek. Going to the Hebrew let’s see the definitions We must dig deeply into what the Lord has said to us. He crowns or beatifies the humble…”beautify” means, He is made to look good through us being good! He is glorified through our actions. It’s more about how He looks than how we will look, we look better because we exalted Him! We could’ve exalted ourselves, but we exalted Him instead. We choose to make Him look good by our godly examples lived outwardly on purpose. We expose ourselves inside out to the world to scrutinize us on purpose that we’d be vulnerable to His will before we do our own desires. We think of the benefits of others before we go after our own satisfaction. This is what humility is about. It’s about laying down one’s own desires and plans for the consideration of others. It is saying I don’t have to be right or have the winning opinion. I will allot myself a different view. I’m open to a new way of thinking. I’m pliable, moldable in the King’s hands, because I chose to be His subject.
The humble does the will of another. Says, there may be a different way to look at this whole deal, and I don’t need to argue my own way into it or out of it. I trust God to right my wrongs and the possibility of the wrongs of others.
I’d rather silence my own flesh, weaken myself, be afflicted than to afflict others, put others down, rise up in rebellion against the very character of God. I say about myself what God says about me. I agree with God. That’s true humility, agreeing with God and His will, no matter what I think about it.
Humility binds up self government, self rule and allows God to have His way in a human person. This is a huge tool in God’s hands in the taking of kingdom territory.
