Genesis 2:1-25
1Heaven and Earth were finished, down to the last detail.
2By the seventh day God had finished his work.On the seventh dayHe rested from all His work.
3God blessed the seventh day.He made it a Holy Day (Holiday)Because on that day He rested from his work, all the creating God had done.
4This is the story of how it all started,of Heaven and Earth when they were created.
Adam and Eve
5At the time GOD made Earth and Heaven, before any grasses or shrubs had sprouted from the ground--GOD hadn't yet sent rain on Earth, nor was there anyone around to work the ground 6(the whole Earth was watered by underground springs)--7GOD formed Man out of dirt from the ground and blew into his nostrils the breath of life. The Man came alive--a living soul!
8Then GOD planted a garden in Eden, in the east. He put the Man he had just made in it. 9GOD made all kinds of trees grow from the ground, trees beautiful to look at and good to eat. The Tree-of-Life was in the middle of the garden, also the Tree-of-Knowledge-of-Good-and-Evil.
10A river flows out of Eden to water the garden and from there divides into four rivers. 11The first is named Pishon; it flows through Havilah where there is gold. 12The gold of this land is good. The land is also known for a sweet-scented resin and the onyx stone. 13The second river is named Gihon; it flows through the land of Cush. 14The third river is named Hiddekel and flows east of Assyria. The fourth river is the Euphrates.
15GOD took the Man and set him down in the Garden of Eden to work the ground and keep it in order.
16GOD commanded the Man, "You can eat from any tree in the garden, 17except from the Tree-of-Knowledge-of-Good-and-Evil. Don't eat from it. The moment you eat from that tree, you're dead."
18GOD said, "It's not good for the Man to be alone; I'll make him a helper, a companion." 19So GOD formed from the dirt of the ground all the animals of the field and all the birds of the air. He brought them to the Man to see what he would name them. Whatever the Man called each living creature, that was its name. 20The Man named the cattle, named the birds of the air, named the wild animals; but he didn't find a suitable companion.
21GOD put the Man into a deep sleep. As he slept he removed one of his ribs and replaced it with flesh. 22GOD then used the rib that he had taken from the Man to make Woman and presented her to the Man.
23The Man said,"Finally! Bone of my bone, flesh of my flesh!Name her Womanfor she was made from Man."
24Therefore a man leaves his father and mother and embraces his wife. They become one flesh.
25The two of them, the Man and his Wife, were naked, but they felt no shame.
~Lena’s Journalin’ ~
So man was made of wetted ground, not dry ground, water had been making the soil ready for the seed, man. As a plant, man came out of the ground and life sprung forth from his form, and continued, was meant to continue.
Boy, God, as a ground’s keeper of sorts, prepared the soil to be made ready and accepting and responsive to His plans and purposes. This was His Divine work. He made the soil ready for man to be made and for the things that would support man, to be made also. God planted a garden for man. He caused things to grow there. They didn’t just magically happen, He made them happen! He set man up with things to become respons(e)- able for (there’s that word again.) He set man up with choice from the get go. But He prepared man also.
Listen to the meanings of the names of the 4 rivers in the garden, Eden-
1st Eden means pleasure
Next,(1st River & #1 means only, each, every, once for all)
Pishon means increase, and Havilah- is a place of bringing forth, either by birthing or growing for increase, stirring up something that is about to come forth with force.
(We could say, in order for increase to come there must be expansion, as in pregnancy, there will be a cycle of time and then great labor with pain and pressure to release something big)
#2 River, (#2 means, and again, another time) Gihon- is the bursting forth, the gushing forth, Cush is Ethiopia- black land, dark land
(We could say here that the 1st birth was not the last birth, even for this couple, birth was the order of the earth, for God’s purposes to come forth this cycle must repeat and grow and multiply, again and again, filling the earth! THIS is what dispels the darkness)
#3 River (#3 means-three-fold, ,which represents covenant, which is an excellent thing) Hiddekel means, rapid, and Assyria means progress, walking it out
(We could say here, that the best of everything will come through covenantal relationships, rapid progress is and was the design of God, hindrance is the enemy of progress, but through covenant relationship growth will increase and progress will be made)
#4 River (#4 means, 4 corners, four sides, laid out for reproductive purposes, four is said to be the # of the earth) Euphrates means- fruitfulness
(So we could say, Go into ALL the world and reproduce ME, says the Lord, fill the earth with Me, My image, My likeness. Be Me, Live for Me, Act like Me, in all the earth, bring blessing on the earth, by being as I AM, says the Lord!)
This was the order of the garden, this still is the order of the earth, the Divine order, that was set and does not change, no matter what enemy power tries to stop the order, no matter if we don’t like the order or whatever. It is the order set up in the earth by God- period. Why is the world involved in the disasters, why does the earth groan and writhe out in pain, like as in childbirth, but is not delivered, she’s in transition, but is not multiplying, why? Because God set an order, when man (plural), who God set as the “order” keeper, is as man was created to be and does what he was created to do, order will return to the earth and there will be a bringing forth of the kingdom of God, and of the increase of Him, and man will make progress, the progress deemed by God, many, many years ago.
When God took of Adam bone, and formed flesh around it, when He presented what He’d formed to His Son, He was re-living a moment where He himself formed a being who had other beings inside of Him. He saw Adam and was overjoyed at the thought of not being alone in His expression of love, and in having someone who would be there to help Him! Can you imagine the beauty in that and the potential felt in seeing that dream or idea, become real, alive, living like God? As Adam felt about Eve, God felt about Adam and Eve inside of Adam! Pleasure barely describes it.
Listen to this one- Woman means, opposite of man, wife, ONE, childbearer, taken from a pattern, all there (accounted for).
He says when a man leaves his father and mother, he embraces the flesh of his wife and both of them become ONE (with God), as God designed marriage, to be a picture of every other thing coming into his plan and purposes.
In this order there is no shame at all, out of this order- wow! They both stood there, in that order, bare before God, open to all God was to them, there was no hindrance at all to who and what they were and would become. They were the first picture of right-standing before God. When we come to Christ’s saving love and grace, we have all shame removed by His cleansing blood!
Proverbs 27:17-19
17 You use steel to sharpen steel, and one friend sharpens another. 18 If you care for your orchard, you'll enjoy its fruit; if you honor your boss, you'll be honored. 19 Just as water mirrors your face, so your face mirrors your heart.
Psalm 122:1
1 When they said, "Let's go to the house of God," my heart leaped for joy. Does yours?
