Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good!For His mercy endures forever.
Oh, give thanks to the God of gods!For His mercy endures forever.
Oh, give thanks to the Lord of lords!For His mercy endures forever:
To Him who alone does great wonders, For His mercy endures forever;
To Him who by wisdom made the heavens,For His mercy endures forever;
To Him who laid out the earth above the waters, For His mercy endures forever;
To Him who made great lights, For His mercy endures forever--
The sun to rule by day, For His mercy endures forever;
The moon and stars to rule by night, For His mercy endures forever.
To Him who struck Egypt in their firstborn,For His mercy endures forever;
And brought out Israel from among them,For His mercy endures forever;
With a strong hand, and with an outstretched arm, For His mercy endures forever;
To Him who divided the Red Sea in two, For His mercy endures forever;
And made Israel pass through the midst of it, For His mercy endures forever;
But overthrew Pharaoh and his army in the Red Sea, For His mercy endures forever; 16To Him who led His people through the wilderness, For His mercy endures forever;
To Him who struck down great kings,For His mercy endures forever;
And slew famous kings, For His mercy endures forever--
Sihon king of the Amorites, For His mercy endures forever;
And Og king of Bashan, For His mercy endures forever--
And gave their land as a heritage, For His mercy endures forever;
A heritage to Israel His servant, For His mercy endures forever.
Who remembered us in our lowly state, For His mercy endures forever;
And rescued us from our enemies, For His mercy endures forever;
Who gives food to all flesh, For His mercy endures forever.
Oh, give thanks to the God of heaven! For His mercy endures forever.
~Lena’s Journalin’~
Isn’t this just awesome?
I mean doesn’t it just put everything in perspective?
I was talking with a friend yesterday about how every problem that can, will come to us on a daily basis offering it’s services of misery to us and asks us if we’d like for it to bring its friends who like misery too. To me this Psalm shows the way to silence those offerings, ignore their set up of misery and its company to me and say yes to the magnification of God in my life! I can say yes to Oh so many things, and I make choices to join any one group of voices over my life. Today I choose this Psalm. Today I choose to magnify God and His word, and His voice in my life!
When I do that the other voices grow dim before my hearing. I hardly hear them anymore. In fact the louder I praise God and the more often, the less and less I her and concentrate on and have any chance to magnify misery and its friends.
I so want to have God’s ever enduring love alive and in operation in me. I so desire that. I want to love, when love is not earned or returned, like God does. I want my love to be so strong that is quenches fury and offense. I want it to last at least until someone comes to know Him more. I want it to speak and breathe and live as long as I do and beyond. I don’t want it to become tired or wary of waiting for what I expect to happen in the way I want it to happen with who I want it to happen with. I love the Love of God, it endures all things, forever. He endures me. WOW! He does what He says, and He does not leave me alone like I am, He changes me into what I will become, more and more like Him, but he uses who I am now to make that change. He loves and accepts me as I am and uses who I am to become who He is. Oh Magnify the Lord!
