Jeremiah 5:1-31
Jerusalem's Godlessness
1 "Roam R218 to and fro through the streets of Jerusalem,
And look now and take note.
And seek in her open squares,
If you can find R219 a man,
If R220 there is one who does justice, who seeks truth, F54
Then I will pardon her.
2 "And although R221 they say, `As the LORD lives,'
Surely they swear falsely."
3 O LORD, do not Your R222 eyes look for truth? F55
You have smitten R223 them,
But they did not weaken; F56
You have consumed them,
But they refused R224 to take correction.
They have made R225 their faces harder than rock;
They have refused to repent.
4 Then I said, "They are only the poor,
They are foolish;
For they do R226 not know the way of the LORD
Or the ordinance of their God.
5 "I will go to the great
And will speak to them,
For they R227 know the way of the LORD
And the ordinance of their God."
But they too, with one accord, have broken R228 the yoke
And burst the bonds.
6 Therefore a R229 lion from the forest will slay them,
A wolf R230 of the deserts will destroy them,
A leopard R231 is watching their cities.
Everyone who goes out of them will be torn in pieces,
Because their transgressions R232 are many,
Their apostasies are numerous.
7 "Why should I pardon you?
Your sons have forsaken Me
And sworn R233 by those who are not R234 gods.
When I had fed them to the full,
They committed R235 adultery
And trooped to the harlot's house.
8 "They were well-fed lusty horses,
Each one neighing after his neighbor's R236 wife.
9 "Shall I not punish these F57 people," declares the LORD,
"And on a nation such as this
Shall R237 I not avenge Myself?
10 "Go up through her vine rows and destroy,
But do not execute a complete destruction;
Strip away her branches,
For they are not the LORD'S.
11 "For the house R238 of Israel and the house of Judah
Have dealt very treacherously with Me," declares the LORD.
12 They have lied R239 about the LORD
And said, "Not R240 F58 He;
Misfortune will not R241 come on us,
And we will R242 not see sword or famine.
13 "The prophets R243 are as wind,
And the word is not in them.
Thus it will be done to them!"

Judgment Proclaimed
14 Therefore, thus says the LORD, the God of hosts,
"Because you have spoken this word,
Behold, I am making R244 My words in your mouth fire
And this people wood, and it will consume them.
15 "Behold, I am bringing R245 a nation against you from afar, O house of Israel," declares the LORD.
"It is an enduring nation,
It is an ancient nation,
A nation whose language R246 you do not know,
Nor can you understand what they say.
16 "Their quiver R247 is like an open R248 grave,
All of them are mighty men.
17 "They will devour R249 your harvest and your food;
They will devour your sons and your daughters;
They will devour your flocks and your herds;
They will devour your vines R250 and your fig trees;
They will demolish with the sword your fortified R251 cities in which you trust.
18 "Yet even in those days," declares the LORD, "I will not make you a complete destruction. 19 "It shall come about when R252 they F59 say, `Why has the LORD our God done all these things to us?' then you shall say to them, `As you have forsaken Me and served foreign gods in your land, so you will serve R253 strangers in a land that is not yours.'
20 "Declare this in the house of Jacob
And proclaim it in Judah, saying,
21 `Now hear this, O foolish and senseless F60 people,
Who have eyes R254 but do not see;
Who have ears but do not hear.
22 `Do you not fear R255 Me?' declares the LORD.
`Do you not tremble in My presence?
For I have placed R256 the sand as a boundary for the sea,
An eternal decree, so it cannot cross over it.
Though the waves toss, yet they cannot prevail;
Though they roar, yet they cannot cross over it.
23 `But this people has a stubborn R257 and rebellious heart;
They have turned aside and departed.
24 `They do not say in their heart,
"Let us now fear the LORD our God,
Who gives R258 rain in its season,
Both the R259 autumn rain and the spring rain,
Who keeps for us
The appointed R260 weeks of the harvest."
25 `Your iniquities R261 have turned these away,
And your sins have withheld good from you.
26 `For wicked men are found among My people,
They watch R262 like fowlers lying F61 in wait;
They set a trap,
They catch men.
27 `Like a cage full of birds,
So their houses are full of deceit; R263
Therefore they have become great and rich.
28 `They are fat, R264 they are sleek,
They also excel F62 in deeds of wickedness;
They do not plead the cause,
The cause of the orphan, R265 F63 that they may prosper;
And they do not defend F64 the rights of the poor.
29 `Shall R266 I not punish these F65 people?' declares the LORD,
`On a nation such as this
Shall I not avenge Myself?'
30 "An appalling and horrible R267 thing
Has happened in the land:
31 The prophets R268 prophesy falsely,
And the priests rule on F66 their own authority;
And My people love R269 it so!
But what will you do at the end of it?

~ Lena’s Journalin’~ Today
It is saying, if we go outside of the four walls of the place of peace that has been set up for us now in the spirit, in our born again lives, if we go out of that place and look in the place where things are of a boarder view, where just about everything goes, no rules are inflicted on anyone ever, in that place. If we go with what temporarily seems so desirable, to not be under anybody’s rule. In that place, is there any truth? Is there real honesty? If so, why did we ever leave it and come into a place of eternal peace? What led us away from there? Truth did. Truth of the eternal nature, so why would we go back to the world and seek anything at all, why even desire anything of what it is or says it has for us. It is only trying to lure us back by lies and deception. If the things there were right, God would be there, but he isn’t! He cannot be a part of evil and truth. It’s “One Way- Jesus” He loves the people of that place, oh so much, enough to send messengers there who speak truth. He has also tried to help them, see and when they refuse to see infliction of disobedience comes upon them. When that happens, God so hopes that they will turn towards Him. The infliction could be a tool in His hand to bring them out of that place. Many times discomfort will bring us to a place of desperation. Where we were not seeking peace, now we do. Where we were not seeking truth, now we have to. Where we would not take correction form anyone, now we pay attention. Remember correction is not a bad thing. Correction, means correction. If I need to be corrected along the path so that I get to the right place at the right time, that’s helpful. If I head out to work and somehow get mixed up and go the wrong way, love will notice for me, correct me, so that I can get to work on time the correct way. Hatred would just laugh that I’m headed in the incorrect direction, watch me fail and not even be there to help comfort me after I figure it out. Correction is good, it’s God. We are not God, we do not know all things, but we serve God and He does! So let’s allow Him to tell us what to do.
For some reason prosperity that comes our way causes us to have a chance for a great deal of pride, successes somehow steer us into the incorrect thinking that we are the ones who can do everything, I mean we got wealth and wealth = power and power= dominion, right? We cannot forget who gives us the power to get wealth, and who allotted for us the blessings. IF we forget, we place ourselves in danger along the route of pride and we need to turn around. The winds of adversity are to help turn us around, shake us into seeing and seeking truth. Use them as gages to look deeper into God’s plans, when your own plans had become #1.
Do we fear, honor and respect God enough to love Him, serve Him, listen to Him, do what He says?
Or do we fear men and the whiles of the devil more or even our own desires and appetites? Which do we prefer? Do we prefer others first or ourselves.
I always tell the girls in my cell groups, here is a gauge
Does it bring life of more abundance, eternal abundance? Than it is God.
Does it steal, kill, destroy, you, your eternal peace with God and His will, your faith walk? Does it hinder you or stop you on the new spiritual track you were on in any way? Then it is clearly not God, but it is God’s enemy at work to take you out of God’ desired plans.

Proverbs 27:17-19
17 You use steel to sharpen steel, and one friend sharpens another. 18 If you care for your orchard, you'll enjoy its fruit; if you honor your boss, you'll be honored.
19 Just as water mirrors your face, so your face mirrors your heart.
Psalm 122:1
1 When they said, "Let's go to the house of God," my heart leaped for joy.
