Psalm 65:1-13
A David psalm
1 What mighty praise, O God, belongs to you in Zion. We will fulfill our vows to you,
2 for you answer our prayers, and to you all people will come.
3 Though our hearts are filled with sins, you forgive them all.
4 What joy for those you choose to bring near, those who live in your holy courts. What joys await us inside your holy Temple.
5 You faithfully answer our prayers with awesome deeds, O God our savior. You are the hope of everyone on earth, even those who sail on distant seas.
6 You formed the mountains by your power and armed yourself with mighty strength.
7 You quieted the raging oceans with their pounding waves and silenced the shouting of the nations.
8 Those who live at the ends of the earth stand in awe of your wonders. From where the sun rises to where it sets, you inspire shouts of joy.
9 You take care of the earth and water it, making it rich and fertile. The rivers of God will not run dry; they provide a bountiful harvest of grain, for you have ordered it so.
10 You drench the plowed ground with rain, melting the clods and leveling the ridges. You soften the earth with showers and bless its abundant crops.
11 You crown the year with a bountiful harvest; even the hard pathways overflow with abundance.
12 The wilderness becomes a lush pasture, and the hillsides blossom with joy.
13 The meadows are clothed with flocks of sheep, and the valleys are carpeted with grain. They all shout and sing for joy!
~Lena’s Journalin’~
How important is God’s word to you? I mean like do you take it seriously, as you read it, or is it like a mythical story with some good suggestions in it? Do you ever put yourself in the context of its words and ask God to help you live the words?
Do you know the word of God is alive, it is powerful, it is sharper than a two edged sword, dividing between joints and marrow of a natural man and his body, then also a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart? How can all of that be. Isn’t it just the Bible, a good book, with black words on a white page?
This is what enemies of God and His word would like for us to think, that God’s words are mere words on pages to turn and then lay down regarding them very lightly. The more we regard the word of God as alive, the more alive it is to and in us.
God’s word actually formed and created us. His words saved us, heal us, etc. They are life and in them is the light we need to walk and live in a dark world.
Does your heart feel pierced through with conviction that leads you to change when you read God’s word? Do you desire more and more change, and so read the word more and more? Or do you read it less and less because you do not want to be told you need to be changed?
These are really important questions we should periodically ask ourselves.
Recently I heard a preacher say, that if when we leave a church service if all we got was a bulletin, we should just stay home and do whatever it is we wanted to do on Sunday’s anyway, like wash the car or work on the house or go out on the boat, etc.
We come to places where the word of God is shared to injest the words into our beings and to make it become who we are. We learn how to be one with the word of God, which makes us one with God.
This Psalm is loaded with life changing words. It expresses a love for the Almighty and is not silent about His wonders and acknowledging them.
The world wants to disregard the wonders of God as flukes of some sort, happenstances, no big deal. A Christian takes every opportunity to give God glory, honor and praise as this Psalmist is.
The word of God outlines for kingdom seekers the desire and heart of God, so that they as lovers can help His desires come to pass while they are alive for the time period they are alive on earth. It outlines for us the things to pray about, that would please God’s heart. It draws out what we should call to be that is not yet happening. It enables us with creative words of life to cover the earth’s atmosphere with.

Proverbs 27:17-19
17 You use steel to sharpen steel, and one friend sharpens another. 18 If you care for your orchard, you'll enjoy its fruit; if you honor your boss, you'll be honored. 19 Just as water mirrors your face, so your face mirrors your heart. Psalm 122:1
1 When they said, "Let's go to the house of God," my heart leaped for joy.
