Today Our Daily Bread Psalm 148

Psalms 148: 1 - 14
1 Praise the LORD! Praise the LORD from the heavens! Praise him from the skies! 2 Praise him, all his angels! Praise him, all the armies of heaven! 3 Praise him, sun and moon! Praise him, all you twinkling stars! 4 Praise him, skies above! Praise him, vapors high above the clouds! 5 Let every created thing give praise to the LORD, for he issued his command, and they came into being. 6 He established them forever and forever. His orders will never be revoked.
7 Praise the LORD from the earth, you creatures of the ocean depths, 8 fire and hail, snow and storm, wind and weather that obey him, 9 mountains and all hills, fruit trees and all cedars, 10 wild animals and all livestock, reptiles and birds, 11 kings of the earth and all people, rulers and judges of the earth, 12 young men and maidens, old men and children. 13 Let them all praise the name of the LORD. For his name is very great; his glory towers over the earth and heaven! 14 He has made his people strong, honoring his godly ones – the people of Israel who are close to him. Praise the LORD!

Can you even imagine an order, or lets rather call it- a word, that cannot be revoked? How does that make one feel? Comfortable or Uncomfortable? Is it about our comfort? Natural or Eternal? What if He changed His mind about the sun shining this next month or year? What if He made people, then decided to play around a bit and stop all water sources, just for "fun" to see what it would look like? Why would it be God to establish and leave as is? Is anything good unchanged? I often think of how we desire for God’s words to be true, yet we have a hard time believing they are true based upon the actions of men and women we see everyday; people who change their word at the click of a pen, and then we wonder about promises. Are they made to keep or break? Why do we depend upon God’s words, yet do not count ourselves like Him and practice keeping ours to Him and then to others? Is that even right, to put such a huge expectation with disappointment involved and anger when we feel He does not respond? He made us to look for words to be kept in place, for us to depend upon the sun’s rising, to look for the rain. He wants us to believe He will keep His word, and shun any other deceptive & lying thought. He is worthy of our praise, He is awesome in His creative power, He is great and eternal, and He is in love with us! Vs 8 says, the weather obeys God. WOW, why would we resist Him, rebel against Him? PTL !!! Did you know that when you join creation in praise to God, you obey Him? Obedience is blessed in what it does. Amen. Be blessed.
